AMSOIL's Bypass Oil Filtration Systems are virtually indestructible. They feature a powder-coated finish to resist chemical corrosion and ensure a long life. They also have raised machined surfaces for optimum gasket and o-ring sealing to protect against leakage.
AMSOIL Bypass Oil Filtration Systems are engineered for outstanding oil filtration efficiency. There are three remote oil filter kits to choose from (see photo above). See AMSOIL Bypass Oil Filtration Systems 101 for a brief description of each of these systems.
The AMSOIL Ea Bypass Oil Filter (the remote oil filter used in all three kits) is the ultimate in filtration technology, providing the best possible protection against engine wear and oil degradation. Working in conjunction with the engine’s full flow oil filter, the AMSOIL Bypass Oil Filter operates by filtering oil on a “partial flow” basis. It draws approximately 10 percent of the oil pump’s capacity at any one time and traps the extremely small, wear-causing contaminants that full flow oil filters can’t remove. The AMSOIL Ea Bypass Filter typically filters all the oil in the system several times an hour, so the engine continuously receives analytically clean oil.

Incorporating New Technologies
AMSOIL is continually researching new and emerging technologies and reformulating its products to incorporate these new technologies. In 2008, AMSOIL revamped the AMSOIL Bypass Oil Filtration Systems with the new premium-quality AMSOIL Ea Filters in mind. The new systems ensure maximum protection without sacrificing oil pressure and provide improved performance, increased longevity and easier installation. These improvements allow AMSOIL to remain competitive in this quickly emerging area.
Larger ports, increased hose diameter and larger fittings were implemented on the AMSOIL Bypass Filtration Systems to increase oil flow, ensuring full compatibility with all OEM (original equipment manufacturer) oil pressure sensor systems. The new kits also provide improved sealing and feature spin-on adapters that are easier to install. The new kits use the same bracket and mount footprints as the old kits, allowing customers who currently have one of the original mounts to upgrade to the new version without tapping new holes.
Superior Reliable Sealing
AMSOIL Bypass Oil Filtration Systems feature HNBR (hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber) gaskets and Viton o-rings. These top-of-the-line synthetic rubber materials are characterized by their high strength and property retention after exposure to heat, oil and chemicals. Commonly found in premium automotive, industrial and other performance-demanding applications, HNBR gaskets and Viton o-rings provide superior reliable sealing.
High-Strength Design Eliminates Cracking
AMSOIL Bypass Oil Filtration Systems are made from an injection-molded A380-grade aluminum alloy with polymeric vacuum impregnation, eliminating cracking and possible leakage. This high-strength design has been proven in industrial applications. The new mounts feature improved engineering to the internal design, resulting in maximum oil cooling. In addition, in the Dual Remote system, oil flows into the full flow oil filter first, then into the bypass filter, further reducing pressure drop.
Superior Durability
AMSOIL Bypass Oil Filtration Systems have been thoroughly tested for durability. The fittings were torque-tested to 90 lbs., providing strength and sealing similar to lug nuts used to keep tires on vehicles. The filter-mount threads were subjected to similar tests of durability.

- The Single Mount Bypass Oil Filter Mounting Kit contains a mount for just the AMSOIL Bypass Oil Filter (the full flow oil filter remains in its original location). This single remote bypass filter system fits into much smaller spaces than the AMSOIL Dual-Remote Bypass System (below).
- The Dual Remote Oil Filtration System combines both an AMSOIL Bypass Oil Filter and an AMSOIL Full Flow Oil Filter on a single mount (moving the full flow oil filter away from the engine block), eliminating the use of multiple fittings or extra return holes in the oil pan or valve cover.

AMSOIL Single Mount Bypass Oil Filter Mounting Kit
The AMSOIL Single Mount Bypass Oil Filter Mount consists of a mounting unit that is connected by hoses to engine ports. As shown in the illustration below, the mounting unit is situated outside the main line of oil circulation. The entire system fits into cramped compartments. The AMSOIL Bypass Oil Filter (shown in photo) is sold separately. For auto/light truck and marine applications.
Fits into Smaller Spaces
Engine compartments are becoming increasingly cramped, leaving little room for after-market additions and improvements. The AMSOIL Single Mount Bypass Oil Filter is a single remote bypass filter system that fits into much smaller spaces than the AMSOIL Dual-Remote Bypass System.

Note: The Aluminum Billet Oil Filter Sandwich Adapter (BK1201) screws on to the present full flow oil filter nipple located on the engine block. The full flow oil filter is then simply spun on to the adapter. The Sandwich Adapter has an orifice to provide high-pressure oil feed for the AMSOIL Bypass Oil Filter Mount. The Aluminum Billet Oil Filler Cap (BK1202) eases the installation of the oil return line (from the AMSOIL Bypass Oil Filter Mount back to the engine).

AMSOIL Dual Remote Bypass Oil Filtration System
The AMSOIL Dual Remote Oil Filtration System converts an engine's full flow oil filter system into a full flow/bypass filtration system by attaching an AMSOIL Ea Oil Filter and an AMSOIL Bypass Oil Filter onto a remote mount. The mounts and filters are installed in an accessible area of the engine compartment, making them simple to change. The advantage of this system is that it takes oil from the engine and returns it without the use of multiple fittings or extra return holes in the oil pan or valve cover. The AMSOIL Dual Remote Oil Filtration System provides superior filtration efficiency, increased oil capacity and improved oil filtration accessibility.
How the Dual Remote Oil Filtration System Works
The Dual Remote mount and oil filters are installed in an accessible area of the engine compartment. A specially manufactured, spin-on steel casting with threading adapters is simply screwed onto the engine block, replacing the old full flow oil filter. In and out ports in the casting and two flexible oil lines connect this adapter to the Dual Remote mount, providing both a source of oil and a place to return it to the engine. In the Dual Remote System, oil flows into the full flow oil filter first, then into the bypass filter, reducing pressure drop.
Easier, More Convenient Filter Changes
The AMSOIL Dual Remote Oil Filtration System is designed to make filter changes easy and convenient. Remote placement of the filtration units also allows larger oil filters to be used and increases oil sump capacity, dramatically extending the oil's useful service life even further.
Measurement Requirements
The diagram at the right shows the minimum area required for an AMSOIL Dual Remote Oil Filtration System using the various AMSOIL Bypass Oil Filters, EaBP-90, EaBP-100 and EaBP-110.
Service Life
When used in conjunction with AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oil and an AMSOIL Ea Oil Filter or a Donaldson Endurance Oil Filter, the AMSOIL Ea Bypass Oil Filter should be changed every other full flow oil filter change, up to 60,000 miles. When used with other brands of motor oil or full flow oil filters, the AMSOIL Ea Bypass Oil Filter should be changed every other full flow oil filter change. AMSOIL recommends using oil analysis* when extending oil drain intervals.

The hose and engine adapters are not included due to the kit's high variability of application, resulting in varied mounting locations, hose lengths and engine adapter sizes. Prior to installing a BMK30 kit, determine where the filter mount will be located and how much hose will be necessary to complete the installation. Order (1) bypass oil filter, hose and engine adapters separately:
- For use with AMSOIL Bypass Oil Filter element EaBP120.
- Hose is available by the foot from AMSOIL (BP250).
- Adapter fittings can be purchased from any hydraulics or heavy-duty equipment outlet.
Note: The installer must determine the size of the high- and low-pressure ports in order to determine which engine adapters to purchase.
AMSOIL Dual-Gard Bypass Oil Filtration System
The AMSOIL Dual-Gard Bypass Oil Filtration System links two AMSOIL Bypass Oil Filter elements together for engines with sump capacities between 15 and 42 quarts. A metering orifice inside the mount controls oil flow so that it never draws more than 10% of the oil pump's capacity. At an engine speed of 45 mph, the AMSOIL Dual-Gard Bypass Oil Filtration System cleans all of the oil in the system every five to ten minutes (depending on engine RPM, sump size and oil pump ratio).
The AMSOIL Dual-Gard Bypass Oil Filtration System treats oil to ultra-fine filtration, which increases engine and oil life and enhances engine performance. The AMSOIL Bypass Oil Filter elements promote superior piston ring seal, which improves compression and engine power, and reduces blow by, oil consumption and fuel dilution. For large truck, stationary engines, compressors, forestry, agriculture, marine, and mining applications.
Increases Volume of Oil
The AMSOIL Dual-Gard Bypass Oil Filtration System allows the installation of two AMSOIL Spin-On Bypass Oil Filter elements, which doubles the Bypass filter element change intervals. The system makes room for a larger volume of lubricating oil, which allows the oil to run cooler and rest more. Both increase oil durability. The system also makes servicing fast and simpler.
