Water Resistance Test

Water dislodges and degrades grease, which promotes accelerated component wear. AMSOIL Synthetic Water Resistant Grease offers superb cohesion and adhesion — it holds together and clings tenaciously to metal, even when wetted by a pressurized stream of water. The industry standard test (ASTM D 1264 Water Washout Test), proves AMSOIL Synthetic Water Resistant Grease has superior water-washout and spray-off resistance, as shown in the graph. With AMSOIL Synthetic Water Resistant Lithium Complex Grease, components remain protected during prolonged exposure to standing water or exposure to pressurized water.

Prevents Rust and Corrosion

AMSOIL Synthetic Water Resistant Grease protects metal surfaces from rust and corrosion, both of which may be hastened or worsened by frequent or prolonged water contact. It seals metal surfaces against rust and chemically fights corrosion.

Extreme Pressure Additives

AMSOIL Synthetic Water Resistant Grease protects components from metal-to-metal contact even under heavy loads. Its extreme pressure additives form a shield against sustained or sudden extreme loads for dependable protection against wear.

Grease Compatibility

AMSOIL Synthetic Water Resistant Grease is compatible with most seal materials and most other greases.

Applications

AMSOIL Synthetic Water Resistant Grease meets the highest performance standards set by the National Lubrication Grease Institute (NLGI), GC for wheel bearing applications and LB for chassis applications. It may be used in automotive wheel bearings, chassis or other applications for which an NLGI 2 GC or LB grease is recommended. Its unique water resistant formulation makes it an ideal grease for automotive and industrial equipment with frequent or prolonged water exposure.
