Due to their synthetic construction, AMSOIL Long-Life 75w90 and 80w140 Synthetic Gear Lubes are extremely effective at reducing friction. With reduced friction, excessive operating temperatures in transmissions and differentials are reduced and fuel economy is improved, reducing fuel costs.

Resists the Damaging Effects of High Temperature

AMSOIL Long-Life 75w90 and 80w140 Synthetic Gear Lubes resist the damaging effects of heat and oxidation at temperatures much higher than conventional mineral gear oils can resist. They will not thicken or develop sludge, even under severe operating temperatures such as those encountered in heavy hauling and fleet operation. Their superior shear stability allows them to maintain their viscosity during extended service.

Smoother Shifting in Cold Temperatures

In low temperatures, conventional mineral gear oils thicken to make shifting difficult. AMSOIL Long-Life 75w90 and 80w140 Synthetic Gear Lubes resist low temperature thickening to provide superior component protection, smoother shifting and increased fuel economy. At a temperature of 0°F, mineral gear lubricants may take as long as 18 minutes to flow and lubricate the front pinion bearing of a differential, while AMSOIL Synthetic Gear Lubes flow in as little as 45 seconds!

Protects Against Rust and Corrosion and Increases Seal Life

AMSOIL Long-Life 75w90 and 80w140 Synthetic Gear Lubes provide a durable, protective film on components to prevent the formation of rust and corrosion. These gear oils also increase seal life and reduce oil leakage due to pressure build up. They are compatible with the materials used to make seals and will not cause excessive swelling, shrinkage or hardening.

Compatible with Most Limited Slip Differentials

AMSOIL Long-Life 75w90 and 80w140 Synthetic Gear Lubes are compatible with most limited slip differentials. If limited slip differential chatter occurs, add AMSOIL Slip Lock Limited Slip Additive friction modifier additive.

Extended Oil Change Intervals

AMSOIL Long-Life 75w90 and 80w140 Synthetic Gear Lubes have a longer service life than conventional gear oils do.

Cars, SUVs and Light Trucks:

Normal Service: Drain at 100,000 miles of service or according to the owner's manual, whichever is longer.

Severe Service: Drain at 50,000 miles of service or according to the owner's manual, whichever is longer.

Heavy-Duty Class 8 Line Haul:

Follow the OEM drain interval (miles or hours) for synthetic oil up to 500,000 miles or five years, whichever comes first. Otherwise, drain at twice the OEM interval for petroleum oil.

Vocational/Delivery:

Follow the OEM drain interval (miles or hours) for synthetic oil up to 180,000 miles or five years, whichever comes first. Otherwise, drain at twice the OEM interval for petroleum oil.

Heavy-Duty Off-Road:

Follow the OEM drain interval (miles or hours) for synthetic oil up to 100,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first. Otherwise, drain at twice the OEM interval for petroleum oil.

Note: AMSOIL does not support extended oil drain intervals where water contamination occurs. Check and service the gear oil frequently when water contamination is possible. Gear oils should be changed more frequently when operating vehicles or equipment in dusty or dirty conditions unless the gear system is properly sealed and equipped with membrane type breathers.

Applications

AMSOIL Long-Life 75w90 and 80w140 Synthetic Gear Lubes, in the correct viscosity grades, are recommended for all domestic and foreign applications such as over-the-road trucks, light, medium and heavy-duty trucks, off-road equipment, commercial vehicles, motor homes, autos, SUVs, emergency vehicles, buses, delivery/utility vehicles and tractors.

Use AMSOIL Long-Life Synthetic Gear Lubes in differentials, manual transmissions or other gear applications requiring the worldwide performance specifications listed on the AMSOIL corporate website (see below) plus hypoid gear oil specifications from all foreign and domestic manufacturers such as GM, Ford and Daimler Chrysler. AMSOIL Long-Life Synthetic Gear Lubricants are API GL-5 and MT-1 gear oils, but they may also be used in rear axles where an API GL-4 gear oil is recommended.
