Unique Synthetic Formulation Withstands Compressor Heat and Pressure

The average compressor performs under very severe operating conditions. High heat and high pressure required to maintain satisfactory levels of compressed air can degrade internal compressor components and shorten any compressor's operating life. To ease the burden of operating stresses, a quality compressor oil is needed.

AMSOIL PC Compressor Oils are formulated from premium synthetic base oils and specialized additives. This unique formulation allows AMSOIL PC Synthetic Compressor Oils to increase operational efficiency, reduce energy consumption, lower operating temperatures and be used in a wider operating temperature range. AMSOIL PC Compressor Oils minimize carbon build up and provide clean performance.

Resists Water Contamination, Prevents Rust and Corrosion

Water from condensation builds up in compressors and can cause unwanted oil water emulsions, environmental discharge hazards and rust. AMSOIL PC Synthetic Compressor Oils are hydrolytically stable; they resist water to prevent damaging oil water emulsions, allowing for better lubrication, longer lubricant life and ease of water removal from the sump — water can be easily drained off for simplified environmental discharge and increased oil life. AMSOIL PC Compressor Oils are anti-rust fortified.

A Complete Additive System for Top Performance

AMSOIL PC Synthetic Compressor Oils are fortified with additives designed for compressor applications. Unlike some other compressor oils, they are anti-wear fortified. The anti-foam agents stop unwanted foaming and air entrapment, the corrosion inhibitors protect internal parts against rust and corrosion, and the oxidation inhibitors increase lubricant life by preventing carbon formation and lubricant degradation.

Reduces Heat and Wear

Good foam control reduces heat, oxidation and wear. AMSOIL PC Synthetic Compressor Oils' anti-foam additives help keep high contact regions protected against wear for increased compressor life and efficiency.

Reduces Maintenance Costs

AMSOIL PC Synthetic Compressor Oils last several times longer than petroleum oils (8,000+ hours for most compressor applications), effectively reducing maintenance costs and lowering labor and waste oil disposal costs.

Eliminates Seasonal Fluid Changes

AMSOIL PC Synthetic Compressor Oils can operate in a wide operating temperature range — they remain fluid in cold temperatures and have excellent stability in high temperatures. These features reduce the need for seasonal fluid changes, which means an overall savings for you.

Reduces the Need for Frequent Repairs or Rebuilds

The ashless non-detergent, anti-wear additives found in AMSOIL PC Synthetic Compressor Oils prevent deposits and keep components in like-new condition, reducing the need for frequent repairs or rebuilds.

Longer Compressor Life

AMSOIL PC Synthetic Compressor Oils combine the inherent stability of premium synthetic base oils with specialized anti-oxidant additives to resist varnish, carbon and acid formation. They resist oil breakdown much longer than conventional compressor oils, offering better wear protection, especially during hot operating temperatures. Better wear protection and cleaner performance translates into longer compressor life and longer oil life.

Improves Compressor Efficiency, Saves Money on Energy Consumption

AMSOIL PC Synthetic Compressor Oils have low friction properties and they resist viscosity increase from oxidation, which helps improve compressor efficiency and saves money on electrical energy consumption.

Safety Advantage

AMSOIL PC Synthetic Compressor Oils have higher flash, fire and auto-ignition points than competitive petroleum oils. Their resistance to carbon formation and the ashless additive system minimizes the incidence of deposits acting as ignition-promoting hot spots. (Note: While AMSOIL PC Compressor Oils can provide improved fire safety, they cannot be considered non flammable.)

AMSOIL Outperforms the Competition in Pricing

AMSOIL outperforms the competition in pricing. One reason for this is that AMSOIL is sold factory-direct, eliminating the cost-increasing steps normally used in distributing other compressor oils. Some equipment manufacturers also have their own oils mentioned in their compressor warranties, allowing them to increase the prices charged for their "specialty" oils. AMSOIL can offer the best overall quality compressor oil and still provide the best price!

Extended Service Life

AMSOIL PC Synthetic Compressor Oils may be used for 8,000 hours or more for most compressor applications under normal operation. Drain intervals are subject to operating conditions and maintenance practices. Monitoring by oil analysis is recommended.

Product Compatibility

AMSOIL PC Synthetic Compressor Oils are compatible with petroleum oils and most other synthetic lubricants*. AMSOIL PC Compressor Oils can be used with the following gases, paints, plastics and elastomers commonly used in compressors:

Gases: Benzene, Butadiene, Butane, Butylenes, Carbon Monoxide, Carbon Dioxide (dry), Ethylene, Furnace (crack gas), Helium, Hydrogen, Hydrogen Sulfide (dry), Methane, Natural Gas, Nitrogen, Propane, Propylene, Synthetic Gas, Sulfur Dioxide

Paints: Acrylic Enamel, Epoxy, Oil Resistant Alkyd

Plastics: ABS, Acetal (Delrin), PTFE (Teflon), Phenolic, Polyamide (Nylon), Polyamide-imide, Polycarbonate (metal covered only), Polyester, Polyetherimide (Nylon), Polyimide, Polyphenylene Oxide, Polystyrene, Polysulfone, Terephthalate

Elastomers: Fluoroelastomer (Viton), Nitrile (Buna N), Poly Urethane, Polyacrylate, TFE/P

*Not compatible with polyalkylene glycol or silicone oils such as Sullair 24KT, Sullube 32 and Ingersoll Rand SSR Ultra Coolant. AMSOIL PC Compressor Oils are not recommended for "breathing air" or refrigeration compressors; they are also not recommended for use with polycarbonate plastic that is not metal covered, PVC plastic, butyl, ethylene-propylene and SBR rubber.

Viscosity Grades and Applications

AMSOIL PC Synthetic Compressor Oils are available in five viscosity grades: ISO 32, ISO 46, ISO 68, ISO 100 and ISO 150 and meet the requirements of SAE 10W, SAE 20, SAE 30, SAE 40 and SAE 50. AMSOIL PC Compressor Oils, in the appropriate viscosity, are recommended for use in single and multi-stage rotary screw, vane, centrifugal and reciprocating compressor crankcases and cylinders, vacuum pumps and other compressor applications such as gears, bearings, blowers, pumps and handheld pneumatic tools.

Note: For best performance when converting to AMSOIL PC Compressor Oil, it is recommended that the old oil be thoroughly drained of the old fluid prior to the installation of AMSOIL PC Compressor Oil. If carbon deposits are present on the internal components, it is recommended they be removed following the compressor manufacturer recommendations. AMSOIL PC Synthetic Compressor Oils have a high level of solvency and may remove deposits left in the system. Check the filters and oil/air separators regularly for the first 500 hours of operation and replace as necessary.

National Trade Publication Praises AMSOIL!Lubes-n-Greases
LNG Publishing Co. Inc.

In the March 2003 issue of Lubes 'n' Greases, Automotive Editor David McFall wrote an in-depth article on the subject of extended oil change intervals. He praised AMSOIL for their commitment to excellence and labeled AMSOIL "unshackled" for never conforming to industry norms and standards.
