AMSOIL Propylene Glycol (PG) Antifreeze Engine Coolant is formulated to provide benefits far beyond those found in today's conventional antifreeze and engine coolant products. This revolutionary formulation provides maximum antifreeze and cooling protection in the most extreme temperatures and operating conditions. And, because it adheres to metal and self seals hairline cracks, AMSOIL Antifreeze Engine Coolant prevents radiator leaks and stops antifreeze leaking without additional stop leak products.
AMSOIL Antifreeze Engine Coolant's corrosion inhibitors provide maximum protection against corrosion in a wide variety of vehicles. AMSOIL Antifreeze Engine Coolant meets the long recognized need for a universal coolant fluid — it's formulated for use in heavy duty commercial diesel vehicles as well as in light duty trucks and cars. And it's compatible with all ethylene and propylene antifreeze coolant brands on the market, including DEX-Cool, Zerex and Sierra.
Unlike conventional ethylene glycol antifreeze coolant products, which are highly toxic and even fatal, AMSOIL Antifreeze Engine Coolant is formulated with propylene glycol. It is safe, non-toxic and biodegradable. Above all, its low toxicity limits the threat to children, pets or wildlife — it is environmentally friendly, making it the ideal choice for snowmobiles, ATVs, and some marine applications. AMSOIL Propylene Glycol is an extended life antifreeze and coolant, with a much longer service life than ethylene glycol products.

Far Superior to Conventional Antifreeze — Exceeds Corrosion Standards
Industry tests show that propylene glycol's (PG) anti-corrosive properties are far superior to traditional ethylene glycol (EG). Independent tests reveal AMSOIL Propylene Glycol Antifreeze Engine Coolant surpassed standards for metallic corrosion. It plates metal to protect even when exposed to acids and salt spray.
- Standard corrosion allowances for loss in aluminum and solder are less than 60 mg. AMSOIL Antifreeze Engine Coolant lost 0 mg in aluminum and less than 6 mg in solder.
- Standards for iron, steel, copper and brass allow a maximum corrosion loss of less than 20 mg. AMSOIL Antifreeze Engine Coolant never exceeded a 3 mg loss in any of those metals in a testing period that was run for 10 weeks, three weeks longer than required tests.
Reduces Risk of Bearing Damage
AMSOIL Antifreeze Engine Coolant also gives an added measure of protection to engine bearings in the event of crankcase contamination with antifreeze and coolant:
- According to Arco Chemical Company (Document OP88-791-7.5M "The Facts about Propylene Glycol Antifreeze"), "PG-based antifreeze has shown reduced risk of bearing damage if introduced into the oil by head gasket leakage or failure. A Detroit Diesel 8V92T engine was run on a dynamometer for one hour at full horsepower (432 HP) with 8 percent [propylene glycol antifreeze] poured directly into the crankcase…no excessive wear was shown on bearings run with the 8 percent PG coolant when the engine was torn down." In contrast, "one-half to one percent of ethylene glycol in the oil causes rapid bearing failure, resulting in the shutdown of the engine."
Prevents Radiator Leaks and Stops Antifreeze Leaking
AMSOIL Antifreeze Engine Coolant adheres to metal. It self seals hairline cracks in welds and seams to prevent radiator leaks, without additional stop leak products or fibrous materials.
Long Life Antifreeze and Coolant
AMSOIL Antifreeze Engine Coolant lasts longer than conventional products. AMSOIL Antifreeze Engine Coolant contains a proprietary poly organic acid technology. It eliminates the need for supplemental coolant additives and recharging cooling systems. AMSOIL Antifreeze Engine Coolant provides extended service life in all gasoline and diesel vehicles:
- Up to 7 years or 750,000 miles in over-the-road diesel trucks (Class 8 vehicles)
- Up to 7 years or 250,000 miles in passenger cars, light-duty trucks, vans and RVs
Compatible with all Ethylene and Propylene, OAT and HOAT Antifreeze and Coolant
AMSOIL Antifreeze Engine Coolant is dyed neutral yellow and is compatible with all ethylene and propylene antifreeze and coolant formulations on the market, including DEX-Cool, Sierra and Zerex. It is also compatible with fully formulated diesel antifreezes and other organic acid technology (OAT) and hybrid organic acid technology (HOAT) formulations.
Safe, Non-Toxic Antifreeze
Because AMSOIL Antifreeze Engine Coolant is non-toxic, it limits the threat to children, pets or wildlife. It's also biodegradable and non-polluting.
Applications
AMSOIL Antifreeze Engine Coolant may be used in over-the-road diesel trucks as well as passenger cars, light-duty trucks, vans and RVs. Also for motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles and closed marine applications.
