Praises AMSOIL!

LNG
Publishing Company, Inc.
In the March 2003 issue of
Lubes 'n' Greases,
Automotive Editor David McFall wrote an
in-depth article on the subject of extended oil drain intervals and
touted AMSOIL as a safe, cost-effective and environmentally preferred
choice. He praised AMSOIL for their commitment to excellence and labeled
AMSOIL "unshackled"
for never conforming to industry norms and standards.

AMSOIL 10W-30 Motor Oil and ten
competing oils were subjected to a series of tests. AMSOIL
outperformed all the competitors in nearly every test! See the

Substantially
Reduces Engine Wear
and Removes Soot
Why another oil filter? Even the best full-flow oil filter can't do
it all. Any full-flow oil filter must allow oil to pass through it
quickly to keep the engine from starving for oil. To keep from
creating a circulation bottleneck, a relief valve opens when the engine's demand
for lubrication can't be ignored. As a result, only the coarser particles get filtered out.
The average full-flow oil filter
will effectively remove particles in the 25 to 40 micron range, but the
smallest grit that passes through -– road dust, manufacturing scarf, and
engine-metal flake in the 5- to 20-micron range –- accounts for up to 60%
of all engine wear. These particles can get inside the precision
clearances between bearings, rings and other engine components and cause severe damage. The
AMSOIL Ea™ By-Pass Oil Filter effectively stops particles down to one micron in size,
substantially reducing engine wear.

How Does the AMSOIL By-Pass Filtration System Work?
The AMSOIL Ea™ By-Pass Oil Filter is the ultimate in filtration
technology. It is placed outside the main line of oil circulation,
using an AMSOIL By-Pass Oil
Filtration System mount, and taps into the line to bleed off and
clean only a portion of the oil at a time. Working in
conjunction with the engine's full-flow oil filter, the AMSOIL
Ea™ By-Pass Oil Filter draws approximately 10 percent of the oil
pump's capacity at any one time and retains the oil longer and
does a more thorough job of removing contaminants. It is able to
trap the extremely small, wear-causing contaminants
that full-flow filters can’t remove, without obstructing oil
flow. The AMSOIL By-Pass Filter typically filters all the oil in
the system several times an hour, so the engine continuously
receives analytically clean oil.
High Efficiency
AMSOIL Ea™ By-Pass Oil Filters have an efficiency of 98.7
percent at two microns. At normal operating RPMs, the AMSOIL Ea™
By-Pass Oil Filter will filter
all of the oil in a typical five-quart sump in
less than 10 minutes.
Soot Removal
AMSOIL's
newly designed,
highly efficient by-pass filter element is
also a soot removal device. AMSOIL Ea™ By-Pass Oil
Filters use a synthetic/cellulose sandwiched
media. The inner layer of the element is composed
of a highly efficient cellulose media covered with
a full synthetic media outer layer. These filters
remove 39 percent of soot contaminants less than
one micron. Soot removal efficiency increases
approximately 10 to 14 percent when the AMSOIL Ea™
By-Pass Oil Filter is used in conjunction with a standard
full-flow filter.

Significantly Longer Oil Drain Intervals
Because the AMSOIL Ea™ By-Pass Oil Filter so effectively removes
particles down to one micron, it significantly
increases the time oil can safely be left in the engine. In
fact, engines using AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oil and an AMSOIL Ea™
By-Pass Oil Filter routinely show much lower rates of engine
wear, even when the oil is used for significantly longer drain
intervals, than engines using conventional oils and conventional
drain intervals. Many users, with proper oil analysis, report
intervals well past 100,000 miles.
Increases the Amount of Oil to the System
The AMSOIL Ea™ By-Pass Oil Filter allows more oil to be added to
the system, which means more additives and more cooling
capacity. This puts less strain on the oil, which dramatically
extends the oil's useful service life, and equipment constantly
runs on clean oil. Engine efficiency is increased, providing
extended engine life.
Superior Construction
The superior construction of AMSOIL Ea™ By-Pass Oil
Filters provides better sealing and increased longevity along
with superior corrosion resistance. AMSOIL Ea™ By-Pass Oil
Filters have a marine powder coated exterior;
and their zinc-dichromate base plates increase
rust protection. AMSOIL Ea™ By-Pass Oil Filters have a nitrile HNBR
gasket and an orange silicone anti-drain valve.
And the two-stage pleated and layered cellulose/full
synthetic media has an efficiency rating of 98.7
percent at two microns.
Service Life
When used in conjunction with AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oil and an
AMSOIL Ea™ Oil Filter or a
Donaldson Endurance Oil Filter, the AMSOIL Ea™ By-Pass Oil
Filter should be changed every other full-flow filter change, up
to 60,000 miles. When used with other brands of motor oil or
full flow filters, the AMSOIL Ea™ By-Pass Oil Filter should be
changed every other full-flow filter change. AMSOIL recommends
using oil analysis when extending oil drain intervals.
