Exceeds Stringent European Performance Standards

European vehicle manufacturers generally have more stringent motor oil standards than American vehicle manufacturers, recommending specific high-quality lubricants capable of extended drain intervals. Most motor oils offered in America do not meet these demanding specifications, and problems such as premature wear and engine sludge develop when motorists use conventional American oils to take advantage of the extended drain intervals recommended by the European manufacturers.
     In the U.S., the American Petroleum Institute (API) adopts a one-size-fits-all standard for engine oils, but in Europe the Automotive Manufacturers Association (ACEA) sets multi-tier motor oil standards, taking into consideration the wide variety of engines on the market. Most European automakers also create their own specific standards, using ACEA standards as a starting point.
     European automakers generally recommend 5W-40 viscosity oils in their vehicles, ensuring maximum protection in all operating conditions.      European automakers typically recommend drain intervals ranging up to 20,000 miles. For example, the Care By Volvo Factory Scheduled Maintenance Program recommends engine oil and filter replacement every 7,500 miles, while Mercedes-Benz allows drain intervals up to 20,000 miles with use of its Flexible Service System. Maximum Engine Protection

AMSOIL European Car Formula Synthetic 5W-40 Motor Oil surpasses the North American SAE and European ACEA oil specifications for high-temperature/high-shear (HTHS) viscosity. It does not shear back to a lower viscosity oil in the high-temperature/high- shear conditions of today’s smaller, high RPM automobile engines. AMSOIL European Car Formula 5W-40 Motor Oil contains high-quality anti-wear additives for superior engine protection. It resists the damaging effects of heat, blow-by chemicals and oxidation for extended drain intervals, providing cool, clean and efficient engine performance.

AMSOIL European Car Formula Synthetic 5W-40 Motor Oil does not vaporize (burn off) in the high temperatures that vaporize conventional motor oils. It provides consistent high-temperature protection, improved fuel economy and reduced oil consumption and emissions.

AMSOIL European Car Formula Synthetic 5W-40 Motor Oil remains fluid at temperatures as frigid as -59°F (-51°C), permitting easy engine cranking for fast starts and immediate start-up protection, greatly reducing engine wear and prolonging engine life.

Prevents Rust and Corrosion

AMSOIL European Car Formula Synthetic 5W-40 Motor Oil contains special rust and corrosion inhibitors to protect iron parts, as well as copper, lead and aluminum bearing materials.

Oil Filter Service Intervals

Change oil filter (AMSOIL Ea™ Oil Filter or any other brand of oil filter) at every oil change.

Note: AMSOIL Ea™ Oil Filters are designed for extended drain intervals. They stop smaller particles, allow more oil flow and last longer than regular filters.

Good to Know

• For best results, use AMSOIL Engine Flush before installing AMSOIL synthetic motor oil.

• For maximum engine protection and best performance, use an AMSOIL Ea™ Oil Filter and an AMSOIL Ea™ Air Filter.

• AMSOIL recommends checking the oil at a minimum of every 3,000 miles to maintain proper fill levels and maximum engine protection.

• Most quick lube service centers will install these products upon request or install them yourself.
