AMSOIL Multi-Purpose Greases may be used at higher temperatures than other greases, offering outstanding protection in high-temperature operations. They also pump easier at low temperatures, providing dependable cold-temperature protection and good low-temperature torque values. In fact, AMSOIL Multi-Purpose Greases protect over such a broad operating range, they may be used in place of separate high-temperature and low-temperature greases.

Resists Squeeze Out/Water Washout

Top-performing lithium complex thickeners in AMSOIL Synthetic Multi-Purpose Greases provide excellent adhesion properties. AMSOIL Multi-Purpose Greases adhere to metal in all types of environments and resists squeeze out during operation. These qualities ensure maximum lubricant protection during harsh operations. These adhesion properties also give AMSOIL Multi-Purpose Greases outstanding resistance to water washout, as identified by ASTM D-1264 water washout test. This resistance to water means a protective film of lubricant stays in place to protect equipment against wear and allow rust and corrosion inhibitors to protect against the damaging affects of water.

Extended Service Life/Long Shelf Life

AMSOIL Synthetic Multi-Purpose Greases are suitable for use up to 350°F. (When operating at elevated temperatures, frequent regreasing may be required.) AMSOIL Multi-Purpose Greases resist oxidation, high-temperature degradation and additive depletion so effectively, they may be used for longer service intervals than conventional greases. AMSOIL Multi-Purpose Greases also resist oil separation and offer a long shelf life.

Compatibility

AMSOIL Synthetic Multi-Purpose Greases are compatible with many other types of greases. However, it is recommended that when changing greases, the equipment be cleaned of the old grease when possible or flushed with a liberal amount of the GL grease while the mechanism is in operation. Closely monitor the system for any inconsistencies. Any grease compatibility questions should be referred to your AMSOIL representative or AMSOIL, Inc.

Applications

AMSOIL Synthetic Multi-Purpose Greases are recommended for use in heavy- and light-duty applications found in manufacturing plants, automotive applications, agricultural equipment and construction equipment (consistency grade depends on application). These include, but are not limited to, roller bearings, plain bearings, thrust bearings, gears, electric motors, presses, winches, bushings, wheel bearings, chassis lubrication, universal joints, ball joints, tie-rod ends and steering knuckles.
     AMSOIL Multi-Purpose Greases come in NLGI #0, NLGI #1 and NLGI #2 grades. Each of these greases contain the same viscosity base oils and additives, but contain different amounts of thickener.

• AMSOIL Synthetic Multi-Purpose Grease NLGI #0 contains the least thickener, making it more suitable for cold-temperature applications

• AMSOIL Synthetic Multi-Purpose Grease NLGI #2 contains more thickener, making it better suited for high-temperature, high-moisture and high-speed applications

• Because AMSOIL Synthetic Multi-Purpose Grease NLGI #0 and NLGI #1 are synthetic lithium complex greases, however, they are both also excellent for use in high-temperature applications
