AMSOIL Long-Life Synthetic 75W-90 and 80W-140 Gear Lubes are extended drain gear lubes engineered specifically to protect gears better and last several times longer than all conventional gear oils. AMSOIL Long-Life Synthetic Gear Lubes are shear stable and friction reducing, providing an extra margin of protection that effectively increases gear life. Reduces Operating Temperatures/Increases Fuel Economy

Due to their synthetic construction, AMSOIL Long-Life Synthetic 75W-90 and 80W-140 Gear Lubes are extremely effective at reducing friction. With reduced friction, excessive operating temperatures in transmissions and differentials are reduced and fuel economy is improved.

Resists the Damaging Effects of High Temperatures

AMSOIL Long-Life Synthetic 75W-90 and 80W-140 Gear Lubes resist the damaging effects of heat and oxidation at temperatures much higher than conventional gear lubes can resist. They will not thicken or develop sludge, even under severe operating temperatures such as those encountered in heavy hauling and fleet operation. Their superior shear stability allows them to maintain their viscosity during extended service.

Smoother Shifting in Cold Temperatures

In low temperatures, conventional gear lubes thicken to make shifting difficult. AMSOIL Long-Life Synthetic 75W-90 and 80W-140 Gear Lubes resist low-temperature thickening to provide superior component protection, smoother shifting and increased fuel economy. At a temperature of 0°F, conventional lubricants may take as long as 18 minutes to flow and lubricate the front pinion bearing of a differential, while AMSOIL Synthetic Gear Lubes flow in as little as 45 seconds!

Excellent for All-Season Use

The superior high-temperature stability and cold-temperature fluidity properties of AMSOIL Long-Life Synthetic 75W-90 and 80W-140 Gear Lubes make them excellent for all-season use.

Rust and Corrosion Protection and Seal Compatibility

AMSOIL Long-Life Synthetic 75W-90 and 80W-140 Gear Lubes provide a durable, protective film on components to prevent the formation of rust and corrosion. They also increase seal life and reduce oil leakage due to pressure build-up. They are compatible with the materials used to make seals and will not cause excessive swelling, shrinkage or hardening.

Compatible with Most Limited Slip Differentials

AMSOIL Long-Life Synthetic 75W-90 and 80W-140 Gear Lubes are compatible with most limited slip differentials. If limited slip differential chatter occurs, add AMSOIL Slip-Lock friction modifier additive.

Extended Service Life

AMSOIL Long-Life Synthetic 75W-90 and 80W-140 Gear Lubes have a longer service life than conventional gear lubes do.

Severe Service

For product service life in differentials, consult your owner’s manual or the OEM to establish the application, NORMAL or SEVERE. For product service life in non-differential applications, consult owner's manual or the OEM for either normal or severe synthetic oil service intervals. Where service intervals are unavailable, drain at twice the interval for conventional oil.

Applications

AMSOIL Long-Life Synthetic 75W-90 and 80W-140 Gear Lubes, in the correct viscosity grades, are recommended for all domestic and foreign applications such as over-the-road trucks, light-, medium- and heavy-duty trucks, off-road equipment, commercial vehicles, motor homes, autos, SUVs, emergency vehicles, buses, delivery/utility vehicles and tractors.
     Use AMSOIL Long-Life Synthetic Gear Lubes in differentials, manual transmissions or other gear applications requiring the worldwide performance specifications listed on the AMSOIL corporate website (see below). Can also be used in rear axles where API Service GL-4 lubricant is recommended.

AMSOIL Gear Lube Recommendation Chart

AMSOIL has optimized gear lube performance for specific operating conditions:

• AMSOIL Long-Life Synthetic 75W-90 and 80W-140 Gear Lubes (FGO and FGR) have a performance emphasis on 500,000 mile extended drain intervals associated with larger sumps and lower operating temperatures of over-the-road truck differentials.

• AMSOIL Severe Gear™ Synthetic 75W-90, 75W-110 and 75W-140 Gear Lubes (SVG, SVT and SVO) have a performance emphasis on the extreme pressure and high heat of today’s vehicle differentials.

• AMSOIL Synthetic 80W-90 Gear Lube (AGL) is for those customers requiring this specific viscosity grade.

However, AMSOIL gear lubes are multi-functional and may be used in many different applications, as shown in the chart below. This chart conveys the best AMSOIL gear lube recommendation for each application, based on product design and operating environment, and is listed by it's rating for each application: first (offers superior performance), second (offers excellent performance), and third (exclusive to SAE 80W-90). (Please note: This chart was produced before AMSOIL SEVERE GEAR® Synthetic 75W-110 Gear Lube was developed, therefore SVT is not listed on this chart.)

• AMSOIL 75W-90 Synthetic Gear Lubes (FGR and SVG) will outperform conventional 75W-90 and 80W-90 gear oils in all applications and may be used as a replacement
