Resists the Damaging Effects of Heat and Oxygen

AMSOIL Synthetic 80W-90 Gear Lube resists the damaging effects of heat and oxidation at temperatures much higher than conventional gear lubes can resist. They will not thicken or develop sludge, even under severe operating temperatures such as those encountered in heavy hauling and fleet operation.

Effectively Increases Gear Life

AMSOIL Synthetic 80W-90 Gear Lube provides an extra margin of protection that effectively increases gear life. Its naturally high viscosity index and shear-stable construction protect gear surfaces in high-speed, shock-load, low-speed and high-torque conditions, maintaining their viscosity when exposed to shearing forces. And extreme pressure additives provide excellent protection for gears and bearings, providing a tough lubricating film that resists wear.

Reduces Operating Temperatures

Due to its synthetic construction, AMSOIL Synthetic 80W-90 Gear Lube is extremely effective at reducing friction. When friction is reduced, excessive operating temperatures in transmissions and differentials are reduced, component wear is reduced and fuel economy is improved.

Severe Service

For product service life in differentials, consult your owner’s manual or the OEM to establish the application, NORMAL or SEVERE. For product service life in non-differential applications, consult owner's manual or the OEM for either normal or severe synthetic oil service intervals. Where service intervals are unavailable, drain at twice the interval for conventional oil.

Applications

AMSOIL Synthetic 80W-90 Gear Lube is recommended for use under various combinations of high-speed, shock-load, low-speed and high-torque conditions. It is recommended for use in all light- and heavy-duty, automotive, commercial or industrial applications requiring SAE 80W-90 EP gear lube. AMSOIL Synthetic 80W-90 Gear Lube replaces all conventional 80W-90 gear oils and exceeds the lubrication and performance requirements of front and rear differentials, transfer cases, transaxles, manual transmissions, oil-lubricated wheel bearings, and steering gear boxes that require the performance specifications listed on the AMSOIL corporate website (see below). It can also be used in rear axles where API Service GL-4 lubricant is recommended.

AMSOIL has optimized gear lube performance for specific operating conditions:

• AMSOIL Long-Life Synthetic 75W-90 and 80W-140 Gear Lubes (FGO and FGR) have a performance emphasis on 500,000 mile extended drain intervals associated with larger sumps and lower operating temperatures of over-the-road truck differentials.

• AMSOIL Severe Gear™ Synthetic 75W-90, 75W-110 and 75W-140 Gear Lubes (SVG, SVT and SVO) have a performance emphasis on the extreme pressure and high heat of today’s vehicle differentials.

• AMSOIL Synthetic 80W-90 Gear Lube (AGL) is for those customers requiring this specific viscosity grade.

However, AMSOIL gear lubes are multi-functional and may be used in many different applications, as shown in the chart below. This chart conveys the best AMSOIL gear lube recommendation for each application, based on product design and operating environment, and is listed by it's rating for each application: first (offers superior performance), second (offers excellent performance), and third (exclusive to SAE 80W-90). • AMSOIL 75W-90 Synthetic Gear Lubes (FGR and SVG) will outperform conventional 75W-90 and 80W-90 gear oils in all applications and may be used as a replacement
