Condition
AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Diesel Oil features a
dual base of premium synthetic and hydro-processed base oils in
a formulation with proven high-quality anti-wear additives. This
multi-use oil is designed for both heavy-duty diesel engines
(including modern EGR units) and gasoline engines, combining
versatility and heavy-duty engine protection into one
cost-effective motor oil. It is formulated with high levels of
dispersant and detergent additives that effectively control
acids and soot thickening to prevent corrosion, wear and
deposits. AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Diesel Oil is
excellent for all-season use in on- or off-road applications,
providing outstanding performance and protection over extended
drain intervals.

Remains Stable in Temperature Extremes and Under Heavy Loads
AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Diesel Oil does not
change viscosity (thicken or thin) at temperature extremes like
conventional motor oils do. Unlike other semi-synthetic oils,
AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Diesel Oil contains a high
content of quality synthetic oils for enhanced performance. With
its advanced semi-synthetic formulation, AMSOIL Synthetic Blend
15W-40 Diesel Oil is significantly more shear stable than
conventional oils, retaining its viscosity at temperatures and
loads that break down conventional motor oils. With AMSOIL
Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Diesel Oil, heat and oxidation
resistance are improved for clean engine operation and long
lasting engine oil service life.
Improves Cold-Weather Performance
AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Diesel Oil stays fluid at very
low temperatures, unlike conventional oils that thicken in cold
temperatures and take as long as five minutes to lubricate
internal engine parts. AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Diesel Oil
circulates rapidly to provide vital lubrication and prevent
engine wear caused by lack of oil flow. Dependable
cold-temperature flow also assures faster and easier start-ups.
 Reduced Oil Consumption, Exhaust Emissions and Fuel
Consumption
The synthetic base oil component in AMSOIL Synthetic
Blend 15W-40 Diesel Oil reduces oil volatility or burn-off (see
chart). Low volatility means less make-up oil is required to
replace volatilized oil and less oil vapor gets into the
combustion chamber, reducing oil consumption and exhaust
emissions.
AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Diesel Oil also resists
the formation of sludge and deposits far better than
conventional oils. Conventional oils oxidize at high
temperatures, causing sludge and deposit build-up, which
decreases fuel efficiency, contributes to corrosion and
increases engine wear. AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Diesel Oil
provides a tough lubricating film on all engine parts, reducing
friction, wear and fuel consumption.

Protects Against Rust and Corrosion
AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Diesel Oil contains special
rust-inhibiting additives, which makes it ideal for use in
engines used intermittently.
Outstanding All-Fleet Performance (Diesel and Gasoline Engines)
Though AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Diesel Oil is designed for diesel engines,
it may also be used in gasoline-powered engines, so separate oils for
diesel- and gasoline-powered equipment or vehicles are not needed. It is
perfect for mixed fleets, saving fleet owners the expense of stocking
different oils and the worry of misapplication.

AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Diesel Oil
fulfills the requirements of most public and private
purchasing bids. It is versatile for mixed fleets -- its
high TBN (Total Base Number) offers outstanding wear protection for
heavy-duty trucks and it meets the current licensed
specifications. It is API CI-4 Plus/SL, Detroit Diesel
PowerGuard 93K214 and Mack EO-N Premium Plus '03
registered, making it ideal where these registrations
are required.
Extended Service Life
AMSOIL Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Heavy Duty Motor Oil is
recommended for use according to the longest service
interval established by the OEM (original equipment
manufacturer). Drain intervals may be extended based on oil
analysis.
Oil Filter Service Intervals
Extended oil drain intervals are based on the user
following AMSOIL recommended oil filter service intervals:
If using an
AMSOIL
Ea™ Oil Filter, install a new oil filter at time of oil change.
AMSOIL Ea™ Oil Filters offer a 25,000-mile or one-year
service life, whichever comes first.
If using other brands of oil filters, install a
new oil filter at time of oil change then change at
the engine manufacturer's recommended filter change
intervals.
Note:
AMSOIL
Ea™ Oil Filters are designed for extended drain intervals. They
stop smaller particles, allow more oil flow and last
longer than regular filters.
